pic HEALTH POLICIES

Allergies

Kid Central strives to be a peanut-free environment as much as possible. Avoiding all peanut products and items that may have come in contact with peanuts or peanut products is difficult. We do our best to adhere to this policy, but please understand that at times items may slip through.

If your child has a nut allergy, please notify your child's teacher and/or a staff member so that additional protective measures may be taken.

If your child has other dietary allergies or restrictions, please bring it to the attention of the volunteer when you check in your child.

Medication

No teacher or worker will give any medication to any child. No medication should be left with a worker or child. The parent may return and give the medication if it is needed during the services.

In extreme cases (allergies, asthma) arrangements can be made with written instructions from the parents.

Feeding

Children should be fed prior to arriving at church. It is upsetting to other children if one child has food that is not available for others. Snacks will occasionally be included in the regular format of the ministries. The snack will generally be a healthy snack such as crackers, dry cereal, or fruit snacks.

Plase make sure any food allergies are included on the child's check in profile.

Exceptions to this policy may be made for infants in the church nursery only. Please label all containers with the child's name and provide written instructions for the care givers.

Illness

To protect the health of other children and workers, we ask that children who are sick not be brought to the children's areas.

Some of the common signs of illness are:
Coughing Sneezing Unusual fatigue Inflamed mouth and throat
Fever Vomiting Diarrhea Any unexplained rash
Excessively runny nose and eyes Any skin infection Pink eye and other eye infections
Any symptom of the usual childhood diseases.
(scarlet fever, German measles, mumps, chicken pox, and whooping cough)

Children should be free from any of the symptoms for 24 hours before returning to the children's areas of the church. Children who develop signs of illness after they are brought to Kid Central will be isolated from other kids to avoid possible contamination. Parents will be contacted as soon as possible to check out the ill child.
